Statement on H.R. 218

On Thursday, July 22, 2004, the President signed into law

H.R. 218, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004," which exempts qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from State laws that prohibit the carrying of concealed firearms.
