Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. made additional disaster assistance available to the State of Hawaii by authorizing an increase in the level of Federal funding for emergency protective measures undertaken in the State of Hawaii as a result of wildfires and high winds during the period of August 8 to September 30, 2023.

Under the President’s order today, Federal funds for emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance, have been increased to 100 percent of the total eligible costs for an additional 90-day period for a total of 180 days from the start of the incident period.
