Addressing Gender-Based Violence
Working to end gender-based violence has been a cornerstone of President Biden and Vice President Harris’ careers, and the Biden-Harris Administration has worked to prevent and end gender-based violence wherever it occurs—at home, at work, in the military, in schools, in communities, and online. From signing historic legislation to issuing new Executive Orders and Presidential Memoranda to securing significant funding for domestic violence and sexual assault services to combating conflict-related sexual violence, President Biden made significant progress in reducing violence and supporting survivors. The Administration’s efforts were guided by the first-ever U.S. National Plan to End Gender-Based Violence, a whole-of-government, intersectional approach to preventing and addressing sexual violence, intimate partner violence, stalking, and other forms of gender-based violence.
