Jamie Citron
Deputy Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement
Jamie serves as Deputy Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement. In this role he manages a team of liaisons responsible for creating and coordinating direct dialogue between the Administration and the American public. Prior to this he was a Special Assistant to the President in the Office of Presidential Personnel (PPO) where he oversaw the strategy and operations of the office responsible for the identification and onboarding of 4,000 appointees to serve across the Biden-Harris Administration. Previously, Jamie served as Chief of Staff at Adler University where he oversaw the school’s transition online due to COVID-19. Jamie spent thirteen years working for President Obama, most recently as Director of Development Strategy at The Obama Foundation. He also served as Deputy Director of the White House Visitors Office where he was tasked with envisioning the White House as ‘the People’s House’, inspiring Americans to actively participate in Democracy. During the President’s 2012 re-election, Jamie served as Director of the LGBTQ Vote. He holds degrees from Hampshire College and the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Prior to joining the Administration, Jamie served in leadership positions on the boards of Equality Illinois, Chicago’s Green City Market, and the Alumni Council of the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
